Overview

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (Chuunibyou for short) is a light novel written by Torako and illustrated by Osaka Nozomi.

Yuuta Togashi suffered from chuunibyou while he was in middle school. When he graduated, he put that dark history behind him and forgot about it... or he was supposed to. High school was smooth sailing and full of enjoyment - until the unavoidable, sad event occurs. The event that locks Yuuta into a contract with Rikka Takanashi and disrupts his desperately ordinary life.

My Personal Review

If you already watched the anime (and that is most probably the case), you'll inevitably notice that the anime deviated so much from the LN. It's like Kyoani making a fanfiction anime or something, which turned out to be a good thing unexpectedly.

Compared to the anime, the novel is nothing special. But it's not that bad, we're only missing Kumin, Dekomori, Touka, Yuuta's mom, and Kuzuha anyway, and we got a strange Shinka as well! So yeah, it's not that bad...

Anime aside, I'd say the first volume is not a very good LN overall, the story just... doesn't flow and somehow not interesting and not really funny and get me sleepy.

However, the second volume is much better. The story is more well-written and Shichimiya is so cool (I like her more than Rikka). But still, nothing really special compared to other LN like Kokoro Connect.
